This story is very gory. If all you need is yuck factor, this book has it, however, that is about all you will get. There’s no character development. Very little effort was put into plot development. The main character is far to badass for the situation he’s found himself in. It’s far too easy for him to outwit and overpower these supernatural entities who exist for the sole purpose of tormenting people trapped on there. Trapped in a cults compound? No problem. Nick will just kick ass until he gets out. Need that guy’s shotgun? Simple, Nick just kicks his ass and takes it. Need to convince Danny the Random Villain Guy to help you when he has no reason to? Well Nick just puffs his chest up and threatens him. Not even the Pig itself was a match for Nick’s badassery. This is glorified gore-porn. Nothing more.
