What a fun Regency romance! Richard, Lord Ramsey, is the perfect English gentleman and always does what is right and proper. When a distant relation dies in frontier America (Kentucky, to be exact) and leaves his daughter, Susannah, on her own, Richard offers to marry her. After all, it’s the right thing to do.

He is already supporting his two dowager aunts, his distant cousin, Jane Hawthorne, and another distant cousin, Peter Ramsey. When Susannah arrives from America, she is ill prepared for the life of a Baroness. And, the English Ramsey household is ill prepared for her free-spirited ways!

This book has all of the elements that I love in a Regency: fashion, elegant balls, and crazy mix-ups until you reach the HEA ending. Even though the end result is apparent from early in the book, the trip to get there is perfect! Well-written story with great characters, I fell in love with all of characters (even the annoying ones!).

The narrator was absolutely perfect for the book and his voices and pacing made this a wonderful listen. Even his female voices were great (which is often a problem with male narrators). Highly recommended for Regency readers looking for something a bit different.
