You know how post apocalyptic fiction has become this overflowing landscape of awkward nerdiness? I blame the Preppers all deciding they can also become authors all at the same time. Know what I mean?
Ok so THIS is not one of THOSE stories. None of the characters in this story are navy seals or special forces. You will not have to slog through chapters of prepper porn before getting to some action. THIS story is full of action. It’s fun, fast moving and the characters are generally well rounded, very human, they FEEL things! They are very very flawed but they are also bad ass. Not a lot of cringe moments here. The back and forth dialogue and chemistry between some of these characters is where the best moments are at. If you’ve spent any time around a group of military guys and have become comfortable with their specific brand of humor and way of interacting with each other enough to reach the point of understanding how special it is and then realize how fucking entertaining they actually are – then you’ll have an idea of what I mean about the entertainment quality here in the back and forth dialogue between some of these well written characters.
