Usually, I complain about overly done audio productions. The sounds & music are normally are too loud taking away from the story. Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott did this one right and while the story wasn’t to my liking, the narration and production made this worth listening to. The music was a bit repetitive to the point where I was humming the tune when I wasn’t listening to the book, but it wasn’t bad. It was like a jingle caught in my brain. While some may like this kind of story, I just couldn’t get into it. It was like watching a twitch stream with a really good announcer giving you a play by play on a Pokemon card game. There was no real anticipation, danger, or sense of awe as it’s a couple of guys playing cards, but you kept watching to hear the announcer.
