I truly felt like I was a sidekick in a radio car. The experiences I had as a uniform officer, and then as a homicide and narcotics detective were truly descriptive of what goes on inside a cop’s head.
Following the cops career from being a wannabe , to a rookie, on to a seasoned OG felt like he had been watching from inside my head.
The only fly in the ointment was the performance. Even though the he was perfectly understandable I felt that there was no emotion in the reader and actually forced me to buy the printed copy and read it. Listening to the performance where I would’ve expected the dry or black humor typically accompanying a cops conversation, there was none.
Other than that, it was an incisive book recommended for a future cop, or a retired, OG to reminisce.
