I don’t know if this was the first Post-Apocalyptic Fiction but it most certainly is old. “Warday” was an event in October of 1988 and this story takes place just 5 years later in 1993 or 1994.
This book is the story of two reporters touring the Post-Apocalyptic USA. It is a collection of interviews and documents read into the record. Lots and lots of data is presented. Although interesting, data makes for a very dry story.
It is interesting to look back on this time and the things that were important to the people before “Warday”. I did not look it up but I am guessing this book was written about 1984. I am happy to see this come to Audible as it is a truly interesting look into the past of a genre that I have come to like.
Kevin Pierce does his normal excellent work in narrating this story.
