Definitely, it kept me at the edge of my seat.

Rook isn’t really a P.I. but he still acts like one, trying to find bad guys and investigating. In this magical system supenatural/magical sources (places or creatures it seems) leave streams of magic in the air and can be tapped for use, or stored in crystals or artifacts. I didn’t understand if wizards have an internal source of magic or if it only external. It has a dark atmosphere, like the Felix Castor series. Awaiting to see what comes next.
