The story of this one seems a little strange. no clear goals or objectives are laid out, but the end of the book sets up the next one nicely. Narration is great, as always. The magic system is fleshed out a little more in this book, but it seems strange the way new rules are mentioned right as they come up. I like a little foreshadowing in that regard.
Overall, a fun, fast read. Looking forward to the next book!
