I am enjoying this series. There is a great deal of humor, a solid dose of action, and some occasional surprises. I enjoyed the first book a bit more though. I just liked the origin story a touch more.
My only criticism of book 2 is that it takes place in a single day. For the amount of action, pain, and recovery it seems kind of ridiculous. It was like cramming two seasons of 24 into one. Even Jack Bauer has his limits! I know, I know, this is fiction, and fantasy fiction at that. But the cloak has energy limits and a recovery period, and both seemed to be violated repeatedly. In the grand scheme of things, it is a minor complaint.
