The Westwick Witches series is entertaining, funny, fast-paced and partly crazy and you can’t get enough of it:)
As always, Cendrine has to deal not only with a murder at hand but also – or first and foremost – with her irritating, unstoppable aunts who behave like spoilt teenagers, not 60 or 70 years old experienced witches they are:) And it’s not only Aunt Pearl this time; Aunt Amber brings in her antics, too – which makes the whole story even crazier and more entertaining…:) I know, I know, too many “smiling faces” in this review, but I can’t help it – the book has made me laugh more than once and I am still smiling thinking about Amber’s acting career and Pearl’s attempts at “helping” with the prompts on set:)
Ms Burchard continues to do a great job with the series; the pace is good and the voices so well-matched to the characters that I can’t imagine anyone else reading the books any more. I’ve already said it before – I love Aunt Pearl’s voice best, she’s irritating to the point of me wanting to slap her:) but all the other characters are equally real in this wonderful interpretation of the book:)
