This Larry Millett series has revived, or more accurately perpetuated, my love of excellent Holmes mysteries. Each of Millett’s stories is comprehensively structured and never asks the listener to suspend disbelief. Moreover, Steve Hendrickson’s narration is superb! His range of character voices is beyond impressive and his talent is among the finest in the field. I’ve been with Audible for decades and can honestly state that few narrators possess his ability. For instance, listener-favorite Scott Brick’s one-voice-fits-all narrations come off as utterly lackluster compared to Hendrickson’s brilliant performances. In addition, FWIW, I’m in Florida and don’t really identify with Minnesota, but that’s had little impact on my desire to devour these books, simply because the stories are so thoughtfully presented. I’m hooked, thanks to Mssrs Millett and Hendrickson.
