The Legends of the Gods is the second fantasy trilogy by NYT bestselling author Aaron Hodges, and I have no doubt in saying this author is absolutely one of the best in the genre. I’d give this series 6 stars if I could.
Aaron’s writing is exceptional and always keeps me up late at night, totally immersed in his worlds, and this series is no different. I’ve read all three twice and am in the second listening of the audiobook. If you’re looking for gripping epic fantasy with complex, dynamic characters and fantastic world building with lots of adventure, then definitely pick up his work. Best part, this audiobook includes all three books in the series.
The narrator is great, though there’s a certain quality to his voice that I can’t quite out my finger on that bugged me a little at first. But the storytelling is so great you completely lose yourself in it, and I found I really enjoyed the narrator once I got into it. So, definitely take a chance on it. You won’t regret it. It’s fast become a favourite out of my audio library.
I’ve now got all of this author’s audiobooks, and I can’t wait for his next project. One of my favourite fantasy authors, hands down.
