The author has created a LitRPG world with color, and all the classic teenage plots. His battle scenes are good.
However I found the story filled with angst, cliché, weepy or whiny teens and a plot line where zero risk was ever perceived to the main character. The antagonist could have been on the payroll of any Scooby Doo villain. At least if Old Man Jenkins was trying for a soft “R” rating, with all the fun use of colorful swear words.
It’s too bad because I think the bones of the story are solid… just not for me.
