3.5/5 Stars!
I really loved the originality of this ‘vampire’ concept. They don’t really consider themselves vampires though, so perhaps creatures with very ‘vampiresk’ traits? This book had a lot of great traits like fated mates, alpha possessive hero, strong heroine, and even a man with a bite;) I think there was a lull in the book between the thirty and fifty percent mark. I basically was instantly drawn in at the beginning and I love the plot twists thrown my way at the end. These vampires have very old-fashioned views and identify as Amish. Their fated mate ideals comes from a belief in ‘God’s Calling’ for them. Obviously, they the hero had certain beliefs in how woman is to behave that rubbed a little wrong at time, but he has a lot of character growth and development in this area that I can appreciate. He’s also sweet and protective which I adore in a hero. Although I adored Adam’s honorable traits, I think the middle could have benefited from some more spice or some sort of high adrenaline stake to fill the lull a little. I loved the in-depth fantasy world building of the unique order of vampires!
This book is great for those who are obsessed with vampires, fated mates, and alpha possessive and ultra-protective heroes. For those who read a lot of vampire novels this one will for sure give you a unique and interesting spin. Be prepared for one hell of a plot twist!
