For me, ‘Femme’ is not a straight-up romance (pun not intended). There are romantic elements, to be sure, and a definite HEA, but it’s more about finding yourself, being your true self and accepting the true selves of others.

While a lot of the book deals with personal introspection, there are many great scenes with Lionel and Dog together. I especially like the bantering dialogue between them. Characterization is well-developed too. Dog and Lionel have to work at it, but they find their happily-ever-after in the end.

John Solo delivers a nice narration. I think the performance is a tad over-dramatic at times, but it’s enjoyable overall.
