So, I tried this based on 2 things :1) Mountain Dale Press 2) Travis Baldree. I am so glad I did. I love LITRPG, but don’t do as many cultivation novels (only because I haven’t really stumbled onto as many). I found the setup quite good for a delightful adventure and this story extremely enjoyable. I am hoping the next book will go a bit deeper into the chi thread system and how that works exactly as well as more crunchy details on the formation plates, but even if it doesn’t, I’m on board.

While the main character may come off as a loaner, I grew quite fond of his friends and look forward to their joint adventure in the next book. Additionally, despite over 6 centuries of accumulated knowledge, the MC still sees things in this book that are new and challenging to him so, while he is extremely capable, he doesn’t simply go “god mode” and breeze through every challenge. Many of his successes come because everyone is underestimating him due to being in the body of a 10 year old.
