I didn’t like some of the visceral aspects at first until it hit me that I was looking at it from a human view, and not the view of aliens who cared very little about the value of a life. Once that clicked, it was mostly enjoyable, and the small parts that were offputting story and descriptivewise was not enough to turn me away or reduce the score. I look forward to my next audible credit.
Though, the biggest issue I had was the pronunciation of smush. To me I have always heard it as Smoosh, but that’s just me.
