Let me preface this review by saying, i’m typically not into the future sci-fi genre outside of the more mainstream names like starwars or star trek. I also usually prefer a good medieval/high fantasy story, over anything in a more technology based setting.
Perhaps, this is why I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Galactic Champion starts off as a star ship troopers esq story, becomes a classic hero’s journey though an alien, almost post apocalyptic world, and then seems to become a futuristic conan the barbarian story. If any of that resonates with you, then i’d suggest giving this a shot.
There are sex scenes but they are neither gratuitous, lengthy, common, or overly graphic. If you are a puritan, or have prudish sensibilities then this book may NOT be for you. However if you are an adult who can coup with a minute or so of sexual build up before a “fade to black” sequence then you’ll be fine.
Overall, i’m interested to see where this story goes.
