World-Tree Online is an entertaining and approachable book that immersed you into what seems like a bread-and-butter role-playing video game, but what is actually unique and refreshing. However, its characters can seem rather flat—especially the antagonist—to the point that adult or mature readers may little to engage with.

The performances are adequate and allow each of the main characters to feel like they have their own personalities. Some—Lucas and Xan, specifically—are played melodramatically, but it’s not enough to take too much from the overall performance.
