An entertaining story of a young boy, half Navajo and half Irish growing up with a goal firmly in his mind. His family, his friends play a huge part, but discovering hot air balloons had one of the biggest impacts. The road he takes to become a “PJ” or parajumper paramedic, is long but determined.

When it leads him to Afghanistan, he never expects his efforts there to follow him home. Dangerous assignments, life saving rescues—both in and out of the Air Force, the love of his life, are all at risk from one vengeful terrorist.

Good story. Great descriptions of hot air ballooning—both history and how it works, overcoming trials, and becoming a parajumper, all with a cast of likable characters. Enjoyed the audio version from Audible very much narrated by the author herself.
