I spent a lovely afternoon listening to this book. I haven’t read book one in this series and I feel like this worked as a standalone and feel like I was missing something at the same time.

Gianpierre Romano needs a serious reality check, who tries to fire someone because they find them attractive and can’t concentrate around them? The rest of the book shows that this first impression is accurate, Gianpierre spends most of the book coming across as self-centered and self-involved.

Luciana I liked a lot more, she was capable and learning how to cope with suddenly being the mother to a 5 year old traumatized by witnessing her mother’s death. That’s a tough thing to cope with and she managed really well. She does so a few things that can only be described as stupid, but for the most part she comes across as strong and capable.

There’s definite chemistry and the characters are realistic and vivid. I enjoyed hearing their story. Of course the narration helped, the character voices are great, the accents well done and the delivery is excellent.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
