This has almost no reference to nor context surrounding anything having to do with a grand solar minimum. Nothing. Kevin Pierce is excellent but the series is completely devoid of any relevance to the realities of surviving in cold weather … though the author avoids describing such storyline details as temperatures, wind conditions and snow depths. The story could be set in a desert given absolute lack of attention to and knowledge of cold weather survival. Wasted credit.
