Such an imaginative story with great characters! It’s a very different kind of novel than the others I’ve read by this (amazing!!) author, but he definitely made everything work. And it’s more than obvious that he did his due diligence on the research covering the various subjects throughout the book, from complex scientific studies of ****** (I don’t want to spoil anything by being too specific here) to idyllic life and common speech in the 1950s.

It just seems to this reader that TJ Klune is a master at his craft of writing and storytelling. I’ve yet to read anything by him that I didn’t fall in love with in one way or a thousand ways. I cannot stress enough that I wholeheartedly and vehemently believe that the man is immensely under-rated. TJ Klune should be a household name at this point. I hope that his star continues to rise in the literary world and he eventually gets all the recognition he so deserves.

Furthermore, I have to commend Kirt Graves for another stellar performance in his narration. He was perfect for the reading of this novel, and he did an absolutely amazing job (as he always does!) I’ve only said it once before** with one other Narrator/Author combo, but it’s definitely just as true in this case too—when TJ Klune and Kirt Graves get together: it is pure magic! (And just FYI—for anyone who may not know but might be interested—Kirt Graves also hosts a wonderful podcast for fans of this author called Klunatics. Anyone who’s a fan of TJ’s books should check it out! It’s also available to listen on YouTube.)

**To be fair, when I said that once before, it was still with this same author (Klune), but in reference to his novels in other genres (his rom/coms, fantasy/comedies, and his few YA novels), which were all hilariously and extraordinarily narrated by the super-talented Michael Lesley.
