Legend of the Gods is best sort of epic fantasy, including just right amount of everything you can hope for. Great characters with interesting background stories, skills and subplots. Story is building slow and have nice twists – not huge ones as author is slowly preparing you for what will come, but it is definitely not predictable. It was great ride with great ending.
As for narration – its really hard to get used to voice of narrator and honestly – we (I have been listening with my wife) really dislike the voice at start. But during first book – we both not only get used to Mr. Stifel voice(s) but enjoyed the narration and his scale of voices. And now when trilogy is finished, I don’t know how I’m supposed to live without his amazing “Aye” 🙂
Small issue with narration was that narrator choose too childish voice for main heroine and too deep and adult voice for main hero – its kind of weird when they are flirting… seems like 12 year old girl with 40 year old dude (in fact they are much closer in age but).
And, for both me and my wife, this was not only first audio book we ever listened to but also first audio book in English (we are not English native speakers). I’m happy we picked this one 🙂
