Listening to this on Audible was so much fun.

The voice actor was such a perfect choice to narrate this as he had a lot of range and expressions that went along really well with all of the characters and situations.

It was a super high camp ride the whole way through this plot. I typically hate LitRPG books and after giving several try I sorta just gave up thinking it’s not for me.

I’m really glad I gave it another shot though because this really found an amazing balance of not overwhelming the listener/reader. This uses some stat, class, ability and inventory discussions, however, it’s very limited and paces it out nicely and only in ways that actually matters.

The plot was pretty straightforward, it’s not really the main feature of what this book was doing. This was a world building heavy book primarily with characters coming in a close 2nd. The plot has some interesting movement and events, however everything always seems to come back to world building at a constant pace. I loved it.

The world was easy to understand thanks to really great descriptive writing. The narrator also did a great job and distinguishing who was who as well and putting on different voices for different creatures.

The humor wasn’t super jokey but more just some strange or odd situations that is so absurd that it’s funny. I enjoyed it, definetly my kind of humor.

Excited to get into the next book.
