Illusion that May the second book in the Court High series picks up right where They the Pretty Stars left off.December’s world has yet again come to unsteady lonely and disturbing place.Having had enough and unsure of where she stands with Royal or her father, she attempts to leave Maywood Heights behind. She dosen’t get far before it all catches up with her.December’s return to the small opulent town finds her more confused than ever. Her dad runs hot and cold.Royal the boy who seemed so interested and concerned for her is now cold and pushes her away. The rest of the Court is at his bidding.A new old figure comes into the picture. He seems friendly, but he has an agenda of his own.As the book progresses,December feels certain that the Court know more than they let on about her sister’s death. What are they hiding?and how far does this cover up go?What happened to me shouldn’t have happened to anyone else. The Court had too much power and they need to be stopped. This Story continues to be told through December POV with flashbacks from Royal’s perspective interspersed throughout.Royal’s memories shed a light on his relationship with his father and Paige,as well as set readers up with more question. Eden O Neil writes a story that ramps up the suspense and finishes off at a climactic point, much life the first installment.I found this to beguiling read and I can’t wait to dive into the next book and uncover what secrets or illusion that may. The narrated did an outstanding job telling the story.they did such a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.
