The author has an interesting idea. Same Characters, Same City, Different Apocalypse, Different outcome. Unfortunately I was stuck in the old Apocalypse during much of this story and it didn’t quite work for me as well as I’d expect. This would have held up well if I hadn’t listened to the first in the series, and could have stood up on its own. With memories of an earlier well crafted work stuck in my head I was left confused throughout the story, as my mind shifted between two different Alternate Universes, often wondering where I was. But… It’s probably just me.
