When Slyder, an active SEAL on vacation leave, entered the picture as an addition to her protection team, I expected him to be as overbearing as her security team was. And while he was adamant and protective, I loved that he also was willing to listen to Nebraska and find ways to give her some freedom and not simply strong-arm her because he could.
The chemistry between the two was evident but not overbearing. Because the story itself is somewhat shorter, the romance was obviously going to move at a faster pace, but it was enjoyable and the relationship and tension actually had time to develop.
