I hung in with the story & character for two books… two books longer than I should have. Could not really get to the place where Max felt like anything more than a 2 dimensional character. His emotions felt very shallow & his actions & decisions did not speak highly of his abilities as a leader. The action scenes were graphic but unreal. Felt it very suspect that Max survives missions where everyone else is killed. The writer seems to hate women- they are portrayed as over- sexed eye candy, harpies, manipulative & untrustworthy. Especially hated the voice talent… made Max seem even more like a shallow musclehead.
