My suspension of disbelief was crushed when feminism creeped into the story. Feminism is the product of our modern society. Women aren’t going to be patronizing the men that protect and provide for them when there are roving, Muslim rape gangs wandering around. Men and women are unequal is some things but, equally important. Unless, we all turn into soyboys, men and women will return to the roles that we have evolved to perform when SHTF. Will there be a few shield maidens? Yes, but they will still be protected by strong men. Joe turned onto a giant pussy toward the end of the book, which isn’t a characteristic of a survivor. Especially, when it comes to opsec. I hope this aspect doesnt continue in the following books, it’s completely unrealistic.
