When I saw this new title from Robinson I knew I just had to check it out. This is a story that knows it’s an over the top comedy story. Any seriousness regarding the characters and their situation is completely washed away with copious quips and tangents. This doesn’t hurt the story since it is self aware of its own ridiculousness. Where his other stories such as Project Nemesis find a balance early on between comedy and story, Space Force runs full on with the crazy and doesn’t stop. Once you realize this, there isn’t much else to be done other than sitting back and enjoying the ride.
As an avid gamer I also have to hand it to Robinson for the research he did into gaming and gamers in general. He nailed the references and created some believable characters!
