After seeing that Scales n’ Spells was getting a follow-up series, I was so excited to read it. Fans of that series will notice that this book is noticably shorter than the other books, and it is. This book does not follow the same kind of narrative of the others with a war going on, instead its an archealogy expedition, written with all the tenderness that we’ve come to expect from these authors. Joel Leslie does an amazing job narrating as always, and I was pleased that he seems to have settled into Ha Na’s voice.
This book sets up an amazing narrative journey and leaves me with hope for the future of our dragon 6 their mage mates. My only complaint is that the sequel isn’t out yet.
