As a Catholic priest, I guide a lot of people through emotional and spiritual healing. I have found Be Healed by Bob Schucts to be very helpful. I have read other books on deliverance and inner healing. Matt and Neal Lozano in their ministry guide for Unbound address insecurity, then how self-justification and pride flow out of that. Shame is something that is mentioned in these works and other related books. However, I think the catastrophic impact shame has is not emphasized enough. As I was listening, I kept thinking, “Why don’t we talk about shame more?” Personally, I didn’t think shame was something I struggled with, but through reflection and this book I noticed how it has permeated my life in many subtle ways, sabatoging my confidence as a priest and my ability to receive the Father’s love. This boo has been such a tremendous gift to me!
