I’ve never before seen such a beautiful, suspenseful, lyrical story that was done so wrong by a meh title and cover. If you want ALL the feels in a quick/read listen, don’t hesitate. Joel Leslie is one of my absolute favorites but he’s not perfect for every story; HOWEVER, this happens to be the kind of story he does best. Intense, emotional, and a great showpiece for not only his masterful accents and personality types to show, but also for his emotional range. Pykh’s puppy-like innocence and eventual rage; Siel’s world-worn care and profound sadness; Carter’s humor and determination — they are all on display. Bravo to both author and actor!
