Mix Raiders of the Lost Ark with Romancing the Stone, make it m/m and add in tropes of stepbrothers/enemies to lovers, forced proximity and the paranormal and you’ve the the bones of this book. What the author proceeds to do with that was create an amazing, steamy adventure (in several senses) with one character who is an historian and researcher most comfortable in a library and the other an archaeologist always up for adventure in some out of the way place. Their skills complement each other for the task required in this story and as they spend time together, they find their personalities mesh in a wonderful way too. Hope we get more adventures with these two. Joel Leslie was the perfect narrator for this. He sounded like he was having a ball as he captured the sense of adventure and romance in the story.
