“Flashback” is a short story that has the feel of a sci-fi/horror, “B” movie. The story, however, is “AAA” all the way. It starts off with a couple, Rodger and Savannah, on a road trip. Then add in a freaky, storm, a car accident with a dinosaur, a biker gang and some alien trees. With that author, Wayne Kyle Spitzer has given himself everything he needs to deliver a fun, action-packed thriller.
Travis Baldree narrates this tale very well. His style is the perfect choice for this story. His dramatic interpretation conveys all the right emotions as well as the proper pace whether things are quiet, foreboding or action-packed.
As a story, I honestly think “Flashback” would have benefited from being a bit longer in order to develop the characters and plot a little more. That being said, what we, the readers/listeners are given is still a wonderfully entertaining story. Definitely, check out “Flashback.”
