Shoot the Messenger is a wild ride that kept me glued to listening. First off, I LOVE a Kick-Ass Female Lead, and Kesh Lasota is that x 100. She is a Messenger. Her job is to deliver messages. The book starts where she is delivering a message to a mine worker, telling him he has 18 seconds to live. From there, the book gets so incredibly fast-paced with so much action and plot twists I am still reeling.

I was torn in the story of how the Fae where depicted. I was expecting them to be the love interest, but oh no, they are the villains and what evil villains they make. It was delicious yet unexpected, and the plot twist at the end of the book, seriously my mind is so blown.

This space fantasy/paranormal romance was everything! The world-building is phenomenal, and the character-building is extraordinary. I just have one thing to ask. Where has DeCosta been in my reading life? Why didn’t I discover her sooner?
