Wow, this book takes you on a wild and sometime mind-blowing rollercoaster ride and I loved every minute of it. It is my first book written by Sheridan Anne and it definitely will not be my last, I am looking forward to the rest of this series, I hope it comes to audio soon. I will be checking out more of her other books too. This dark bully romance can get intense at times but the lead female character will have you rooting for her and even smiling at times. Oceania Munroe, a girl from the hood, is moving on up, after her Mom takes a job as a live in house keeper for Charles Carrington a successful businessman. Ocean leaves Breaker Flats and her four best friends, Nic, Kairo, Elijah and Sebastian to be thrown into a whole new world and not a good one, at least for her. Charles’s son Colton is her first obstacle, along with his friends Charlie, Spencer and Jude, who is the devil. Charles does her a favor and gets her a spot in an elite private school, Bellevue Springs Academy, turns out to be another challenge but she makes a good friend, Milo, the two clicked right from the start. There are a lot of oh sh*t moments in this book but Ocean is tough and she gives as good as she gets. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story is cleverly plotted, this is a great start to the series, I am left wondering about a lot of things and certain connections, I am sure answers lie ahead. There is a lot of drama, angst, some twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and emotions moments and some romance or not. Sheridan Anne, thank you for the awesome story and wild rollercoaster ride.
??? And for the wonderful narration, Lessa Lamb is a mega talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. She brings the characters to life and is awesome at covering the voices for both the male and female roles, giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. Her portrayal of each character is spot on, she grasps each characters persona, plays the role with perfection sounding just as I picture them to sound. Her Ocean was badass, loved her take on Milo and she gave enough angst and alpha-tude to Colton, his crew as well as DomiNic. She set the perfect tone for the story, captured the characters emotions and projected them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to.
