Arlo sharing a room with his longstanding crush and older brother’s best friend Jack on a friends group holiday in Amsterdam leads to a steamy late-night together that means more to them both than they’re quite ready to admit.
Their impromptu sightseeing tour through Amsterdam is a romantic delight full of steam and humor as they fall hard for each other over a magical few days. Arlo is hilarious and endearing, Jack is kind and sweet, and together they’re a fun, considerate, caring, and adorable couple.
I didn’t much care for Jack’s ex Steven showing up uninvited and tagging along with the group despite no one wanting him around. His “bad ex boyfriend” role felt a bit one-dimensional, and unnecessary in pushing Arlo and Jack together.
Narrator Joel Leslie delivers a fantastic performance, skillfully capturing all of the snark, sweetness, and varied British accents perfectly. I have no doubt I enjoyed this story all the more having experienced it in audio. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.
