A surprising poor recommendation by audible.

I’ve always thought Jeff Hays is a great narrator and he gives a good performance. Unfortunately that didn’t save this book. At first I was enjoying listening, but the story just kept growing. It was fine when the main character was turning lead into gold, but in the end he could change whole buildings and raise the dead. Also the story goes out of its way to rationalize slavery.
