This book has a promising premise: a gritty, realistic story about interstellar travel. Sadly, it quickly devolved into a tale about how the main character is brilliant, and everything goes perfectly. In fact, the word “perfectly” is used nauseatingly often.
This book could have focused on the struggles of life and how the characters overcame them (or didn’t), but instead glossed over most of the parts that would have made the story interesting. It’s a missed opportunity.
