The MCs, Danny and Tristan, meet in a very awkward, “funny”, and heroic way. So shy Tristan tries to avoid Danny but life does not let him. Tristan is so cute, sweet and adorkably awkward. He thinks he’s destined to be alone but the sexy Scotland Yard detective disagrees. Danny likes all of Tristan’s quirkiness and does not let Tristan push him away. The relationship is a slow burn but sparks fly whenever they get together. And when those sparks catch fire…wowsers…it’s HOT. Tristan and Danny while trying to navigate their new developing relationship must also try to solve Dusty’s murder. Which complicates Tristan’s life a little more since Dusty’s ghost has attached herself to him. But this leads to a great friendship with many humorous moments. Dusty also introduces Tristan to great people that fill up Tristan’s lonely life. The mystery is well done, keeping the reader guessing and has a nice twist to it. All of the characters are interesting and loveable. This is a great beginning to an intriguing series.
Joel Leslie as always does a superb job narrating this story. He gives each character their own voice and emotions clearly felt and heard.
