This book begins with many seemingly irrelevant details, that are working to establish a context and setting for the story. I don’t think all of it was necessary to this particular story, but were interesting to the author and so were included. Hang in there though, and when he gets into the second part, you’ll be riveted to your seat and headphones, unable to multitask or go to sleep; it’s just that good. This is one that I’ll likely listen to again and again to pick up each detail I may have missed, and feel the emotions of each distinct character as they play out and are remembered.
