I liked the story well enough. I thought it lagged in a few places–it could have been tighter. But the characters were likable. It’s always a bonus for me when one of the MC has strong family relationships.
The problem is that Joel Leslie, who does such an amazing job with UK and American accents, is not able to do a consistent German accent, and more importantly
his accent for the Korean American grandmother isn’t just poorly done, it’s an insulting parody. It ruins the book.
