If you’re expecting an “end of the world, apocalyptic/dystopian adventure” … save your credit. This author took off In a direction I was wayyyy not expecting.
Much of the beginning storyline is around this weird character who kills, cooks, and eats his victims. ???? What the crap is that about????
The story about that is too graphic for me to endure until they kill him and get on with the “end of the world” and “the collapse of the American government” part of the story.
A serial killer drama maybe. And those who like that kind of thing may love this book.
But dang! You oughta warn a fella before you do that, right?
Clearly not what I signed up for.
