As an avid lifelong reader of sci-fi and fantasy and of recent years a big fan of LitRPG, I wanted to take a second to review this book. This series has been my favourite LitRPG series of all time and I have read most of the genre. Overall the author nails consistency and continuity of characters and internal consistency of the world through the series. I like the video game mechanics of the world from stat development to spell creation. The antagonists are well thought out and developed. I also appreciate that half of this book is not endless rehashing of character sheets and skill descriptions like many in the genre. Enough to stay informed without overly fixating on it. With regards to performances I thought all of the voice cast gave great performances and the use of sound effects was well employed and subtle. They act well to compliment the voice performances without distracting. With regards to the story across the whole series I find it to be well written with good story arcs and well measured pace/progression. The author avoids pitfalls of power creep and grind. Where many LitRPG series use time compression and being trapped in the game as a device to force the plot, the author does a great job of driving it as the overarching plot. I think it provides realistic and divergent viewpoints on the situation and develops contrasting views that enhance the experience. To the author, thank you so much for writing this series. To the cast, thank you for excellent performances, great distinct voices without resorting to comical overdone accents to distinguish characters. To the editor(s), proofreaders and anyone else involved in this series, kudos and thank you.
