I got this as part of a sale then immediately bought the sequel after finishing it. I must have passed over this once or twice before and only got this during the sale but I’m glad I did. Maybe the synopsis just doesn’t do it justice enough but this was far more enjoyable and cathartic than I would have expected. For once, the MC isn’t just handed power due to some lucky find or because of something they were born with, but he starts from the literal ground and takes decades to work his way up. If there’s ever a third book in this series, I’ll be first in line.
