End of the day, the cover shows you EXACTLY what you are getting into. Coming into books with expectations that mismatch the cover and description is always a bad time so this book is very nice in that you get what you buy. Sadly, it seems the author doesn’t make books anymore. While this book ended in a pretty good way and i’m not so sure how much more blood could be drawn from this stone, it is a shame because while its a rough gem it still is a gem.

There are some rather huge plot holes, inconsistencies and head-scratching moments as well as some uncomfortable stuff in here, but overall its a really fun time that neither overstays its welcome or gets dull and samey. That and the meta narrative both in and out of game are fun, though the out of game car dealership narrative is quickly dropped oddly enough. There are a few plot threads like this, and its clear the author had some things in the book just as justification for the game itself.

That said, i quite enjoyed quite a few aspects of this book that are of the non-sex variety. The spicy scenes are fine, but i found myself mostly surprised by the friends our main character picks up along the way and the way they all interact. Some of them can be a little cheesy and eye-rolling at times, but overall its a very fun group. This and the world building in and out of world make the book much better than i was expecting going in to be quite frank.

The narrators for the most part knock it out of the park, and i can’t point really to any voices that i didn’t really like. Some are a bit cliche, and others are just fine but overall you know exactly who is talking, and they are very emotive. There are a few times that as a headphones user i heard a little background noise or slight echo but i suspect for 99% of users they would not even notice.
