OK so I was reluctant to buy the book after the bad reviews, sat on it for weeks EVEN though the premise peaked my curiosity. then I remembered “I’m my own damn person, how much of media do I love ❤️ that everyone HATES!?”. I dived right in and it was a wonderful decision on my part. As for my rating, there are some predictable aspects if you have read and watched every version of a Beaty and Beast telling, but there are some amazing twists, mystery and very big build up on spice. you can feel the tension (I like tension, it’s more realistic for me). yes the major BOOM is with MM but i imagine the next book will give us what we all are craving (I know I’m salivating). The only thing I could be disappointed about is the narration placement. maybe I’m a bit spoiled, but I love when the FN fills her verbal roles and the MN fills his. I’m always excited for such a dynamic. I will say both narrators did an amazing job, especially with Ez. I am dying for the next book, so I hope others may overlook bad reviews and take a chance. it was a fun ride
