I’m not sure if different narration would have made this better, but I found it had lots of quirky, fun ideas and annoying otherwise.
The narration was brisk, mocking, professional, but seemed to highlight how stupid and god-awfully long the story is. The dialog was weak throughout the book, but the narrator seemed to want us to realize that he thought so, too. Audible eye-rolling, or let’s get this stupid thing over with, that’s what I heard.
